Zocks, the privacy-first AI platform for financial services, today announced the launch of Zocks Account Opening, a new capability that automates the account opening workflow during onboarding to help firms deliver a better, faster client experience and increase operational capacity.
Zocks Account Opening debuts with direct integration with Schwab Advisor Center®, the custodial platform for the industry’s largest custodian. The new capability also supports the existing account opening systems and approval processes used by larger firms, including proprietary and third-party workflow platforms.
New client onboarding can be a time-consuming and error-prone manual process. Advisors and their teams spend hours gathering client information and manually entering it into multiple systems. When opening new accounts, an estimated one in four applications comes back not in good order (NIGO), creating additional work. These delays can frustrate new clients, cause prospective clients to disengage, and make it harder for firms to scale without adding operational resources.
Zocks Account Opening eliminates much of this manual work by automatically gathering data and validating the accuracy of applications before they’re submitted. It pulls client information captured from intake meetings, along with data and processed documents from connected CRM systems, so advisors aren’t re-entering data they already have. This helps firms:
- Deliver a better onboarding experience: Reduce the friction, delays, and repeat requests for information that can give new clients a reason to walk away.
- Increase operational capacity: Minimize manual data entry, errors, and NIGOs so existing teams can serve more clients well without adding headcount.
- Bring in new assets faster: Start earning revenue on new AUM earlier by getting accounts open and ready to fund sooner.
“One of the biggest ways we can help firms grow is by bringing on new clients faster without sacrificing accuracy,” said Mark Gilbert, CEO and Co-founder of Zocks. “We built Zocks Account Opening to pull in data from conversations and other sources, streamlining onboarding processes for both small and large firms. Advisors keep the momentum going after a client says yes, and firms can grow AUM faster with the same teams.”
Pre-Validated Applications Direct to Schwab
Advisors who custody with Schwab can now submit a pre-validated application from Zocks using Schwab’s digital onboarding workflow. Envelopes go through Schwab Advisor Center®, and clients electronically authorize, using secure Schwab Alliance™ credentials to authenticate, so the advisor’s process with Schwab stays the same.
The integration covers Schwab One® brokerage accounts (individual, joint, tenants in common, community property, tenants by the entirety, designated beneficiary, living trust, and custodial) and IRAs (traditional, Roth, rollover, and inherited), for new and current clients. Support for SEP and SIMPLE IRAs is coming soon.
“Our industry can summarize a client meeting in seconds, yet opening an account afterward still means manual steps and disconnected systems,” said Jordan Hutchison, Vice President of Technology and Operations at RFG Advisory. “Zocks significantly streamlines the work that goes into submitting an application. Seeing this go from our pilot to market is a big milestone.”
Works With Systems Larger Firms Already Use
At larger firms, new accounts often move through a home office, supervisory review, or centralized system before they reach the custodian. Zocks Account Opening is designed to work within these existing processes. It can integrate directly with proprietary technology as well as connect with the systems that firms use to route, review, and approve applications.
“Account opening requires coordination across advisor teams, home office operations, supervisory reviews, and multiple custodians,” said Brian Filanowski, CEO of Docupace. “Much of the information needed to move those processes forward starts in a conversation with the client. Zocks and Docupace are collaborating to connect that first conversation with the account opening workflow, helping reduce manual work and simplify onboarding for advisors, their clients, and the firms we serve.”
