Unlike conventional methods—which typically require two or more visits, external lab coordination, and a waiting period of several weeks—CEREC allows for same-day fabrication of custom porcelain crowns, the team explains. Digital impressions taken with an intraoral camera enable precise mapping, while specialized software designs the crown to fit the patient’s bite and natural tooth color. The final product is milled on site using ceramic blocks that closely replicate the translucency and durability of enamel.
